- Turkish Ebru Art Workshop – Ebru Paper Marbling
Overview
”The Turkish Ebru art of paper marbling, known as Ebru, has been added to the United Nations’ world cultural heritage list by UNESCO.”
Turkish marbling or Ebru Art is a form of paper marbling. Using a brush, colours are splashed onto a tray of water, a pattern is made and then that pattern is transferred to paper. Historically, paper marbling was the only form, but today, patterns can be transferred to all sorts of things such as leather, glass, cloth, furniture, book covers and notebooks.
You will learn the fundamental techniques and usage of traditional tools for EBRU Making and start creating the first pieces on Ebru tray. After the end of the workshop, your first Ebru papers will dry. Meanwhile, we will bring you to our terrace/rooftop for watching the unique 360-degree view of Istanbul; the historical peninsula, and Bosphorus. You will enjoy the scene with delicious Turkish coffee. The art you made will be yours and you can keep it as a unique art comes from Turkish Ebru Art Technique.

I will keep my work as a memory of Istanbul. Our instructor at the workshop was very friendly and helpful.
